Those who keep learning will continue to progress in life

At the end of last week’s blog, I mentioned about conducting a 360 appraisal and this week I managed to create one in line with the specification of the apprenticeship. See what else I learnt below!

Top 3 learning from the week:

  • Problem Solving: This week at college we looked at problem solving. This entailed us looking at the process and steps that should be taken in order to solve a problem ensuring that a range of factors are considered. We were set a practical task of building torches to complete in groups without instructions and this helped us to problem solve and work as teams in order to find the solution. This was a great way for us to put our knowledge into real life context.
  • 360 Appraisal: I created a 360 appraisal for my colleagues to complete now and then again at the end of my apprenticeship. It is focused on the behaviours and skills that are required to meet the apprenticeship specification. This will help to form my portfolio and evidence and will allow me to reflect back on my progress and give me areas for improvements.
  • Emotional Intelligence/Neuro Linguist Programming: As I am ahead with my college work, I was tasked with a research exercise. I researched Emotional Intelligence and NLP, it was really interesting to learn more on these topics and how then can benefit business decision making.

Next week I will be meeting with my college assessor for a formal review and will hopefully continue to build my portfolio further in this session!
