This week has been amazing as we held our charity quiz night, it was great to be able to support and raise money for such a worthy cause.
Top 3 learning points from the week:
- College: This week’s topic at college was project management. I found this topic extremely beneficial not only for my college work but also for my work here at RP Analytics. During this topic we studied a variety of things all project management such as Gannt Charts, BOSCARD, the principles of project management and the structure to follow in order to manage a project successfully. This topic will benefit me in the long run when it comes to me managing a project which will form part of my apprenticeship. In addition, the benefits will transpire into my work at RP Analytics as we recruit project managers, so this will allow me to have more knowledge about the skills and programmes used within the role and means that I will be able to source more relevant candidates.
- Quiz: After months of planning, on Thursday night we hosted our charity quiz night in aid of Parkinson’s. It was such a great evening, and everything ran smoothly. It was a great experience for me to get practice of managing projects which will come in helpful on month 9 of my apprenticeship when I will be running and managing my own project. It was great to raise awareness for such as worthy cause and we managed to raise £1800 on the night!
- Sourcing: This week I was tasked with sourcing candidates for various roles. This was a great learning curve and has helped to build up my confidence with being able to find relevant candidates for a role. It was also great as I sourced for roles in areas which I hadn’t looked at before such as BI Developers and Data Scientists. This really helped me to gain knowledge of the market and further my skill set.
Next week I am looking forward to continuing my studies at college and hopefully I will be attending The 2019 Midlands Better Business Expo.
