“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

My first week back after my annual leave has been really insightful especially in terms of my college course. I have continued to learn new things about recruitment whilst continually putting into practice my skills already learnt.

Top 3 learning from the week:

  • College:At the start of this week my college assessor came in to go through Smart Assessor, which is an online portal where I can log the things that I have learnt in the workplace, upload my college work and view assignments set. I found this extremely beneficial as it will be perfect for helping me to track my progress throughout my apprenticeship. We also went through what I will be learning in my college lessons (for example, organisational structures; markets and environments; and legislation and regulation) and the topics seem really interesting.
  • Tech Companies: To help build our database I was tasked with finding companies. To complete this project, I researched into tech companies within the midlands, where I found a list of the top 101. I found this really insightful and surprising with the shear amount of local tech companies and the incredible things they specialise in. It was a great task to help build my industry knowledge and also our database.
  • Contractors:With contracts becoming more and more popular, here at RP Analytics we are trying to gain as much knowledge as possible about the contracting industry. With this in mind, I have been CV searching on job sites for business analyst or project manager contractors. I have then been focusing on the businesses that these contractors have been working for, in order for us here at RP Analytics to gain information on which companies are willing to work with contractors.

With next week just round the corner I am hoping that I will be able to continue with some of the things learnt this week and also hopefully get a head start on my college work by looking into our company organisational structure.
