Working closely with different departments as well as other sub-teams within the Analysis Centre of Excellence, the Senior Customer Insight Analyst will develop focused insight and intelligence to support the business at a strategic level. Key to the role is making business recommendations based on the interpretation of customer data. This data may be a combination of risk, marketing, financial, operations, sales or fraud data whilst using advanced analytical skills and techniques, combined with commercial experience, to solve business problems.

The nature of the analysis will be investigative/forensic and will involve a ‘deep dive’ into a particular area, to establish the root cause of a specific issue or business opportunity. The nature of the analysis will prompt changes or reviews of business strategy.

The role will also contain an element to use data to predict customer behaviour, by development of advanced statistical models and segmentations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build factual and quantified diagnostics of marketing activity (business lines, products, etc.) that provide a clear vision of campaign efficiency, statistical significance & profitability levers.
  • Create the scores and segmentations to improve the accuracy of customer targeting and processing.
  • Work with the wider Customer Insight team to produce regular generational analysis on renewable accounts as well as designing dashboards for marketing performance monitoring.
  • Contribute to improving rigorous marketing decision making, by supporting it with relevant facts and figures.
  • Develop focused customer insight and intelligence and provides business recommendations based on the interpretation of customer data and behaviours.
  • Assist relational marketing teams and operational staff/businesses in the optimisation of the offering and the customer relationship
  • Contribute to the definition of focuses and priorities for updating marketing intelligence tools

Key Experience Required 

  • Previous experience in an insight role
  • Knowledge of Financial Services and what drives profit & profitable behaviour
  • Practiced in use of data mining tools (SAS, SQL etc) and with experience of developing statistical models and segmentations
  • Ability to manipulate data and present information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to summarise data efficiently and effectively using SAS/SQL/R or other package
  • Able to communicate at all levels and explain technical or complex issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise time effectively
  • Proactive and confident approach
