Senior Data Analyst - London

RP Analytics are currently working with a specialist data & insights business with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector.  They are looking to strengthen their data analytics function with the addition of a senior data analyst. 

You will be responsible for; 

• Take the lead in the development of new products and tools
• Participate in the development of analytical reports, including conducting analysis, summarising data and interpretation of results
• Provide consultative support and responses to requests for information from internal and external clients
• Lead on the development of analytical techniques and comparative analyses as needed
• Provide input into providing effort estimates to account managers and providers
• Assist with planning and scheduling jobs
• Provide project management over other analysts in the team on individual projects where required
• Coach and mentor other less experienced members of the analyst team
• Work to maintain and improve peer review and quality assurance processes
• Keeps current with respect to the relevant research literature and regular updates in key NHS datasets
• Participate in the development of materials (e.g. educational, media, etc.) for dissemination of findings and knowledge translation

To be successful you will have; 

• Ability to undertake a variety of activities with a substantial degree of personal responsibility and autonomy. It is important to be able to work independently within a team.
• Excellent and advanced Excel skills, including writing macros and transformation of data
• Experience of building bespoke dashboards in Tableau, or a similar BI tool
• Excellent skills in SSMS for data manipulation/cleaning, relational databases and simple forms
• Experience of manipulating and analysing large numerical and text-based data sets and transforming them into standardised, user friendly format
• Strong knowledge of common statistical methods

• Develop initiatives for providing more efficient bespoke tools in Excel and Tableau
• Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, as well as meet time constraints and expectations.
• Designing new approaches to the presentation of the data
• Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal communication skills; strong analytical and technical writing skills
• Strong organisational skills (demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities)
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with minimal supervision
