Reporting to the Programme Manager this role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Project Lifecycle, maintaining good relationships with their customers and coordinate the necessary actions to ensure the successful delivery of all change, while keeping all stakeholders up to date through well articulated communication. The Project Manager will be accountable for the project from the point of creating the Work Package Proposal and/or Statement of Work until the completion of ELS. The location for this role will be a combination of Essex & London but also anticipated that a significant amount of time will be spent at customer locations. This role is also not considered to be a typical "9 to 5" role and flexible working hours are expected. Responsibilities include: Manage multiple concurrent projects Work to tight deadlines Plan and manage workload against specified deadlines Produce project documentation and work within defined methodologies Organise testing and sign-off for output from the development team Manage requests for change control during project lifecycles Communication Feedback within the department and across the business to provide visibility on project progress Communicate across all departments to ensure project objectives are clearly understood Provide detailed management information on all project work Develop good working relationships with their customer contacts Provide a liaison between their clients, their business and all third party suppliers Communicate output to their customers and manage the sign-off and charging of projects Regular team and exec reports to demonstrate project progress Financial Manage project change control and invoicing crosschecking Stakeholder/Customer Management Build strong relationships with customers Work with the customer to understand their project management and project delivery methodologies Continuous Improvement Review and suggest improvements to business process on an ongoing basis Construct documents to monitor and control the project according to a specific project management methodology Essential: Strong experience of managing Software projects Demonstrable Stakeholder management skills Good relationship building skills across the whole of the business. From analyst to board level, both internally and externally. Traditional project methodology training (ideally Prince2 but will consider others, Six Sigma, etc.) Excellent Negotiation and communication experience A structured / methodical approach with the ability to deliver the long term strategy as well as the short term projects. The ability to handle pressure well and to work autonomously Desirable: A background in Logistics / Shipping
