Network Engineer - Nottingham

A rapidly growing and well-established client of ours is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join their Nottinghamshire based office. You will manage and administer on all back-end infrastructure in place. You will be responsible for maintaining the systems that allow organisations to function and communicate, both internally and externally, on a daily basis.  You must be able to demonstrate and have an extensive knowledge and experience with industry standard network devices. You will be responsible for dealing with technical problems that are escalated and provide swift resolutions to maintain levels of high availability of systems and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 3rd line support to internal/external customers.
  • Making network configuration changes as and when required.
  • Managing network devices (Routers/Firewalls/Switches and Internet Gateways).
  • Install, configure, maintain network services, equipment, and devices.
  • Plan and support network and computing infrastructure.
  • Document network problems and resolution for future reference.
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning.
  • Manage network permissions, emails, anti-virus.
  • Support the VoIP systems.
  • Support administration of servers.
  • Fixing Network faults.
  • Administration of Microsoft Azure Platform.
  • Any other duty as assigned by your line manager.

Key Experience Required

  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Windows Platform.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office 365 and MS Azure platform.
  • Solid knowledge of Cisco, Dell and HP network devices.
  • Windows Servers Experience.
  • Networking: Switches, Routers, Servers, cables, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VoIP, QoS, MPLS, BGP.
  • High Active Directory experience.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal including the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Time management and prioritisation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Commitment and flexibility.
  • Able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (desirable).
  • Previous experience of in-house systems (desirable).
