Management Accountant - Nottingham

RattrayParkin are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a division of a privately-owned plc group, based close to the M1 between Mansfield and Nottingham.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the main purpose is to ensure the preparation and review of Monthly Management Accounts, control of the balance sheet and supervision of a small accounts team.

Key duties:

• Prepare monthly flash forecasts and management accounts
• Review of the above with the FC and MD
• Submit figures to Group Accounting function
• Responsibility for monthly reconciliations, purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger, cash book and fixed asset register.
• Control of fixed asset register for the division, processing all additions, disposals and transfers.
• Review of balance sheet account
• Supervision of purchase ledger, credit control and statement reconciliations
• Supervision of part-time Assistant Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant
• Ensure that all figures are delivered on time and meet Group deadlines
• Control project costs from CAPEX requisitions, delivery projected v real time costs
• Support annual budget work and year-end packs
• VAT returns, Intrastat and EC Sales

About you:

• Previous relevant management accounting experience
• Ideally studying ACMA/ACCA or newly qualified
• Strong Excel skills
• Some staff supervision experience
• Comfortable working in a broad role
• Able to communicate across all levels of a business
• Desire to add value and improve current processes
