IT Business Partner - Derby

RP Analytics are excited to be working with a trusted East Midlands based client of ours to recruit an IT Business Partner.

A £50M turnover, Private Equity backed group who are constantly acquiring businesses in niche areas of their market to continually grow the dominant group. Of course, with this brings a number of exciting opportunities and challenges from an IT perspective.

You will partner and offer extensive support to the business in all aspects of IT, focussing specifically on enabling key business initiatives to support the ambitious growth plans of the Company.

As the IT Business Partner, you will have full responsibility for all aspects of IT and for a small team of IT professionals. We are looking for an individual who has a passion for both the business and IT, is prepared to challenge the Business but is a solution orientated individual with a proven history of delivering value adding initiatives. A technical IT background is essential as is the ability to communicate and build relationships with key stakeholders across the Business. The business is growing rapidly, so the role would suit a dynamic individual, someone who thrives in working in a fast-moving environment and is comfortable managing and dealing with change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsible for the IT function and the services it delivers. Acts a champion for IT within the Business.
  • Coaching and development of the IT team.
  • Ensure the effective utilisation of the IT resources; prioritisation of work for the IT team.
  • Business partner with proactive, advisory approach.
  • Through close cooperation with the business, proactively suggest how IT can enable change and increase competitiveness.
  • Participate in IT investigations into new Business initiatives.
  • Ensure that the compete portfolio of IT services meets service levels and the expectations of the Business.
  • Establish flexibility and short time to market for IT changes.
  • Manage IT budget - establish clear cost transparency and reliability in delivery.
  • Optimise the business investment in IT.
  • Appropriately manage IT related risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure that the IT function is compliant with all internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure there is an efficient demand management process in place; focus on business benefits, time to market and cost efficiency.
  • Manage suppliers in an effective and consistent manner; evaluate their performance and work in partnership to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Keep up to date with latest IT and market trends and how these can be utilised to add value to the business.
  • Maintain a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback.
  • Establish a culture that embeds a “passion for the business as well as IT” and a “can-do” mentality.

Essential Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of having delivered value adding business initiatives.
  • High level of educational achievement.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar regulated industry.
  • Experience in implementation of Business applications and/or Digital technologies.
