RattrayParkin are recruiting for a Financial Controller to join an SME manufacturing business in Nottingham, who are a division of a globally listed US business experiencing year on year growth.

The role is to work in a number 2 position to the FD and to take responsibility for all aspects of the finance function whilst the business continues to grow.

The role will include managing an existing finance team of 3 support staff you will undertake all of the following duties:

·         Monthly management accounts & variance analysis

·         Production of annual budgets and forecasts

·         Financial reporting

·         Cash-flow forecasts

·         Weekly activity reports

·         Co-ordination and reporting of KPIs

·         Management of VAT

·         Balance sheet schedules

·         Analysis of stock movements

·         Supervise, supplier payments, AP/AR and credit control teams

·         Assist with Year-End accounts and liaise with auditors

·         Review and make recommendations to improve existing processes

·         Support the FD with provision of reports for Management Meetings

The role is varied and would suit an experienced accountant who is comfortable undertaking all of the required duties. There will be plenty to do however, so a `can do` attitude and a desire to improve current processes and add value are essential.

Experience within an SME in similar role is ideal, along with the softer skills to manage a small team and some manufacturing experience would be beneficial but not essential.
