Financial Controller - Leicester

RattrayParkin are recruiting for an experienced finance professional to take on the role of Financial Controller within a growing SME based in Leicester.

This is a very hands-on role, supporting a small finance team of 3 and is effectively a number 1 position. You will report to the Senior Management Team.

The business has expanded in the last few years and the intention is to continue to grow the business over the next 5 years. This position will help support that. There will be several ongoing projects to support, such as a new CRM system, finance system and automating reporting and MI processes. You will help identify areas for improvement, recommend the necessary steps and help implement them. There is also the day job.

Day to day duties:

• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Produce and deliver reports to SMT.
• Cost and margin analysis
• Budgets and forecasts
• Bank reconciliations
• Foreign exchange
• Payroll
• Overview purchase ledger and credit control
• Maintain various bank accounts

About you:

• Proven track record within finance, ideally in a similar role in a SME as FM or FC.
• Hands on
• Strong technical skills
• Desire to review current processes and implement changes
• Strong IT skills (Sage and Excel preferable)
• Happy to undertake day to day work and support the longer-term business plan.
• Develop existing finance team

The business is growing organically, without external funding and is in the process of modernising and streamline the accounting processes. This is an ideal role for a candidate who has worked in a smaller finance team, is hands-on and is happy to help reduce the more manual processes.

This is very much a traditional SME FC role with the added project work and supporting the ongoing business growth. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced business with ever changing demands.
