Financial Accountant - Birmingham

RattrayParkin are exclusively partnered with a successful £150m T/O FMCG business based in Central Birmingham to recruit a Financial Accountant.

Reporting into a Financial Controller the successful candidate will work alongside members of both the Financial & Commercial teams to support finance and the wider business to develop and enhance financial reporting & business processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic individual to be involved in what is essentially a hybrid combination of group reporting & finance business partnering / planning & analysis.

The successful candidate should have strong communication skills and capable of building strong working relationships throughout the business. Reflected in responsibility for managing/developing a team of two assistant accountants. 

The role will be hybrid working (2-3 days in office and the rest is work from home each week).

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare group statutory financial statements under UK GAAP including consolidation requirements
• Project manage delivery of annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
• Develop/Identify opportunities for improved KPI reporting and enhancement of business processes
• Lead key areas of month end close process alongside members of the finance team
• Finance business partnering for Health & Safety & Property functions
• Manage two direct reports (assistant accountants)
• Lead the Group's working capital, cashflow forecasting including forex forecasting in conjunction with the team
• Prepare group VAT returns

About you:

• Collaborative with colleagues at all levels and able to build strong working relationships
• ACA/ACCA qualified
• Microsoft Excel
• Previous Financial Reporting experience
