RattrayParkin are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join our clients healthcare business based in Burton-upon-Trent. Reporting to the Financial Controller,this individual will provide support to the FC and work as an effective member of the Finance team to provide an efficient, compliant Finance function for the business • To manage sales invoice process for customers and record cost of sales accordingly • To reconcile customer outstanding balances • To undertake credit control duties, assisting the business development and account management teams as and when necessary to ensure all customer debt is collected in a timely manner • To process transactions on the purchase ledger and prepare payments to suppliers, including payments, invoices, credit notes etc • To reconcile supplier statements • To maintain the fixed asset register • To process staff expense claims and payments on a monthly basis • To be responsible for processing and recording customer claims and returns • To be responsible for the opening of new customer & supplier accounts, including adhering to due diligence processes and obtaining documentation required for setting up new accounts • To assist with the completion of the weekly cash flow forecast • To reconcile bank statements through the accounts system on a daily basis • To assist in completions of period end processes • To assist in preparation of business divisions period end reporting, analysis and detailed variance’s to business divisions budget. • To act as custodian of financial records ensuring they are raised and filed correctly, and archived appropriately • To undertake general administration duties and any other reasonable requests that may be required to meet the needs of the business • To use best practice/initiative to promptly complete tasks and resolve any issues • To develop working knowledge and understanding of the duties of other members of the finance team to ensure cover can be provided for annual leave or other absence • To ensure that all of the post holder’s tasks are completed accurately, promptly and efficiently, and with the appropriate level of discretion/confidentiality necessary to effectively safeguard commercially sensitive or personal information • To attend training/development sessions as required by the company • To use the company’s IT systems proficiently, including the company’s Microsoft Dynamics (Nav) system • To work effectively within a dynamic environment, and to assist in driving a continuous improvement culture • To keep accurate, well-organised records of activity (including in relation to quality matters), in line with company requirements, at all times • Other duties commensurate with the role, as required by the company The above-listed tasks are not exhaustive.
