Business Analyst - Nottingham

One of the leading independent commercial building surveying consultants in the UK is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to work in their Nottingham based office.

This position will support technical and business change projects and to improve the technical liaison between the IT teams and internal clients whilst reporting into the Head of Programme Management.

You will also be responsible for understanding the issues and challenges of different functions within the company, the wider industry and help identify future needs and create solutions to meet those needs.

What you’ll do

You will build strong, collaborative relationships with internal business clients and the IT project teams to support the understanding of and engagement with the business analysis process.

You will lead business and technical analysis discovery sessions and workshops (on-site and remotely) including white boarding and ideas generation to support new development efforts to meet the current and projected business needs of the company and you will support the creation of Project Mandates, Business Cases and detailed Business Requirement Documentation.

You will liaise with business managers and users to understand and prioritise business requirements using methods such as MOSCOW.

You will create test plans, training and technical documentation and work closely with testing areas to ensure appropriate test criteria are being created to reflect business needs.

You will provide expertise on the systems capabilities/limitations as it relates to business goals and you will work with the business owners to define business solution acceptance criteria.

Finally you will work with internal IT teams (Software Development and Service & Infrastructure) for both internal and external projects using different methodologies i.e. Agile and Waterfall.

 

Your profile

Experience

You will have prior business analysis experience on large projects or programme in a full software development lifecycle (SDLC) project environment (Agile and/or Waterfall) through to UAT and training, including experience of developing training materials and in training end users.

You will have experience in documenting business requirements, As-is and To-Be process flows, use cases, user stories, activity diagrams and change management and a solid understanding of business processes and discipline with an ability for recommending appropriate solutions.

Experience in collaborating with remote / regional teams will be advantageous.

Personal attributes

You will have strong stakeholder management skills with a proven ability in interviewing and information elicitation, working through ambiguity to build clear requirements along with strong presentation and workshop facilitation skills.

You will be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll also demonstrate strong customer service orientation and be able to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
